OUR JUSTICE? POETIC.

Girl Dinner by Courtney Leigh

What you forget
are times I was soft
when I should’ve been strong
or when I became shrill
when I should’ve been gentle
with myself.
Rude of you to assume
I’m not made of copper
(hard, but malleable)
a kiss of stardust
electrifying the ground
with mycelia——
I give you language
the what-she-dids
& what-she-wouldn’t-dos.
What you forget
the time my pussy
opened her big mouth
& consumed both
the softest & strongest
part of you.

Courtney Leigh is Editor at White Stag Publishing & the author of the chapbook the unrequited <3<3 of red riding hood & her lycan lover from Dancing Girl Press. Her favorite revenge stories are the fuck around & find out kind, like Becky or Ready or Not. If she’s not head to toe covered in blood at the end, it’s not revenge enough.
